a little bit about me
I’m Valentina, but everyone calls me Val. I’m a little creatively chaotic, I talk way too fast, always have about five projects going at once and get far too excited whenever a new idea pops into my head. I love crochet, padel, cooking, being by the sea and spending time with the people I love.
how I got here
I actually used to be a primary school teacher, and for a long time crochet was simply my little creative escape after work. Somewhere along the way I started wondering what would happen if I actually gave this thing I love a proper chance, so I took the slightly scary leap and decided to try. I’m still figuring out what I’m doing half the time, but I’m really enjoying building something that feels so much like me.
what chic but salty is about
Chic but Salty started from a very simple idea: I wanted to make crochet pieces that I genuinely couldn’t wait to wear. Everything I create is inspired by the things I love most; Mediterranean summers, beautiful clothes, natural materials and that slightly slower way of living. And more than anything, I hope this little corner becomes a place that makes you excited to pick up your hook, make something beautiful and enjoy the process along the way.
